About Us

Pastor (Interim)  Kevin Crum 

     Kevin grew up in Illinois and spent many years in Kentucky as well. Kevin moved to the Ozarks in 2012. He was on the board at Hammond Mill bible camp and is a frequent guest speaker for the camps as well as a cabin leader when he has time. Kevin also taught a men's discipleship class in West Plains, Missouri, and worked with a halfway house in West Plains to provide a bible study for the men there as well.  Kevin is involved in a 501c3 jail and prison ministry called, The Prisoner's Hope, being one of the original cofounders and continues to be a mentor for the ministry. 

     Kevin Received theological training through Southern Baptist Theological seminary via Darryll Davis, as well as receiving his BA in Ministry through Christian Leadership Seminary and an associate degree in theology through William Clemon Davis Bible School. Kevin also holds a bachelor's in general studies through Southern Utah University and studied music at the University of Illinois for vocal performance. Kevin has plans to pursue his M.Div soon. 

     Before accepting the pastoral call for Alton First Baptist, Kevin was a co-pastor at Sovereign Grace Community Church in Thayer, Missouri and has filled in at several churches in the Ozarks. Kevin's passion is expositorial preaching and a mentorship style of discipleship. Kevin is continually praying for new ways to minister to the Alton community and to make God known throughout this region.

Co-Leaders Bro. Kevin and David Case

     David is a native Alton citizen, where, he now serves Eleven Point River Baptist Association, as the association Missionary after pastoring two local churches for 32 years.

     He and his lovely bride have raised three daughters and is now retired from business/career life. Has reportedly stated "I will never retire from serving the Lord."

Meet Our Youth Team Leaders

Co-Teen Youth Leaders

     We are David and Kristy Manrrique. We moved to Alton in 2022 and David has just recently retired in the United States Air Force. We have been married for 20 years and have 2 children. Devin is 18 and will be attending Southwest Baptist University in Fall of 2024 to study Kinesiology/Sports medicine, he is an avid soccer player but hasn't played for a few years with transitions. Joycelyn is 15 and enjoys her animals, books, crafts and going barefoot everywhere possible. 

     We have lived in 9 places in the past 20 years. We moved from Tel Aviv Israel as our last assignment and bought our property as our forever home. Kristy is the librarian of Thomasville Public Library and David is enjoying retirement and will be working at Alton Public School in the Fall as the HS Science teacher. We are so blessed to call Oregon county our forever home and also Alton First Baptist our home church. 

Grades 5-12 Junior Youth Leader

     Rosemary Case is a native Alton resident where she has assisted her husband David in Shepherding two different churches. 

     Together, they have raised three daughters. She has retired from business/career life. She has stated, "she will never retire from serving our Lord and Savior."

Grades 1-4 Youth Leader

     Dessa is a long-time resident of our lovely community, and retired teacher. She has actively helped the youth of Alton find their connection to Jesus, the church, and community. 

     She is devoted to continuing this work.

Grades 1-4 Youth Leader

     Doloris has lived and loved our community for many years. She is one of our community's greatest prayer warriors. Daily you'll see her out praying with individuals. 

     She has been teaching our youth about the greatness of God and helping to developing their love, while helping them to understand the importance of building a relationship with Christ.   

Nursery - K Youth Leader 

     Carol Colley was born in Harrisonville, Mo. The seventh of nine children. Her parents moved to Oregon County in 1960. She attended Alton school from first to graduation. She was 19 when she married Stephen. Soon they will be celebrating their 47th wedding anniversary. 

     Her father passed when she was young and was raised by a godly mother. She accepted Christ as a young adult. And has always felt the Lord leading her to be a defender of His little children. She feels this is her God given mission and will be her main focus in her continued pursuit to serve the Lord. 

Paula Crum (Pastors Wife)

     Paula was born in Etiwanda, California. Her and her parents moved to West Plains, Mo in 1984. She was raised with a love for Christ and the scriptures. After many years of searching, she fully came to Christ as an adult and was baptized early 2016. She and Bro. Kevin married Sept. 10, 2016. They moved to the Alton, Mo area, August 1, 2021, from Koshkonong, Mo.

     When Bro. Kevin followed the Lord's leading and took on different ministry positions at other churches, Paula made the transitions with him and continued to support him in service. She is the blessed mother of her five children, Samuel Ross, Tessa Ross, Ethen Ross, Zander Ross and Noah Crum.

     Paula is a loving and nurturing individual, she has a heart to serve. She is excited and constantly looks forward to what the Lord has in store for First Baptist Church of Alton.
